PTO President's Message

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at Field Elementary! My name is Brandie Dessauer (pronounced “DESS-hour”), and I am your PTO President. I served last year on the PTO board as the Communications Co-Chair and I have two daughters who are in kindergarten and 2nd grade. I am looking forward to an outstanding and fun year at Field, serving our brilliant and diverse population of teachers, administrators, and students.

Why should you participate? The Field Elementary PTO brings together parents who want their children to have the best possible experience during their time at Field Elementary. These formative years are so important. Throughout the year, we encourage you to join us at meetings and events, volunteer your time, and (most importantly) enjoy our activities! Involvement is one of the best ways to build relationships through the school: with teachers and staff, with other parents, and with your child’s classmates.

What does the PTO do? The PTO’s mission is to raise a substantial portion of Field Elementary’s discretionary budget to support critical initiatives that would otherwise go unfunded. Last year, we raised over $50,000, which was accomplished by fundraising events, spirit item sales, and generous donations by families and local businesses. With these funds, we were able to help repair the marquis sign, install new turf mounds and provide important arts program funding. Our 2022/2023 goal is to REACH FOR THE STARS and set a fundraising target of $75,000! We strive for equity and inclusion in all that we do and the PTO board will be working with the school administration in the coming weeks to plan where our investments are made. Stay tuned…

After School Programs - UPDATE

After School Programs

As previously mentioned, Field Elementary is happy to announce a new before and after-school care program for the upcoming school year! Lion's Den will be available for the entire school year from the first day of school through the last day of school.

Sign-up for the Lion's Den on a first come first serve basis. This program will be available for families in grades K-5. Registration fees and types of care vary in price.

Lion's Den Registration Day will begin online Tuesday, August 9th! For more information please visit our Lion's Den page.

Boys and Girls Club After School Program - Registration Open!

If you are interested in signing your child up for the Boys & Girls Club, click here to learn more and access the application. It is first come, first serve. There are about 50 spots available in this program for after-school care.

Looking Ahead - Save the Date!

Final Summer Playdate - August 13

Join us for the final playdate of the summer! ALL grades are WELCOME. Come out, share a snack, purchase Field Spirit items, and mingle with the Field Elementary family! The PTO will be there to chat and answer any first day of school questions you may have.

Meet the Teacher - August 19

Back since pre-Covid, the Field Elementary Meet the Teacher event will take place Friday, August 19 from 1-3 PM. Stop by the PTO table to learn more about how you can help support your school! Or purchase school-approved spirit wear and receive a wristband for students to receive sno-cones sponsored by Sara Black from NAN Properties!

The School of Rock will also have a table to promote their new location a few blocks away from Field! Stop by their table for treats and to learn more about The School of Rock!

Back to School - August 22

The first day of school for the 2022-2023 school year is right around the corner! We are excited to welcome all of our Field Lions back on Monday, August 22, 2022.

Back-to-School Spirit Night at Dish Society - August 24

Join us at Dish Society for our First Spirit Night of the 2022-2023 school year. If you can't stay, order yummy takeout to go and be sure to use the online promo code: SPIRIT. 20% of the sales will be donated to the PTO.

Free Dress Friday - September 2

Donate $1 donation to the PTO and receive a free dress stamp for the day. Students must wear school-appropriate clothing. PTO volunteers will be at the school to hand out stamps to fashionably dressed Field Lions!

September PTO Meeting - September 14

Join us for the first PTO meeting on Wednesday, September 14 of the school year under the pavilion! (Bring your own chair or blanket)

SAVE THE DATE - October 29 Parent's Night Out Auction & Fundraiser

Join us for a Parent's Night Out Auction & Fundraiser at SPJST Lodge! Interested in volunteering? More information will be announced soon!

Volunteer Opportunities

The PTO could not do all of the amazing things it does without the dedicated group of volunteers who are so generous with their time and efforts. Involvement with the PTO is a wonderful way to get to know the school, staff, students, and other parents.

There are many different ways to get involved. We encourage you to learn more about the events and activities that the PTO sponsors and volunteer where you can.

Please note that all volunteers who will be working with students on campus or on field trips need to be registered through the school district’s Volunteers in Public Schools program, or VIPS. VIPS requires all volunteers to register annually. For more information, click here.

Interested in holding a board position this school year? Help us spread the word. We are looking for a Booster Sales Chair to join this year's awesome PTO board. The Booster Sales Chair

Field PTO participates in the Amazon Smile program. Shop the same great choices and pricing you’ve always received from Amazon while giving a percentage of your purchase to Field.

Link your Amazon account to Field Elementary PTO in Houston, TX and shop at http://smile.amazon.com.

BOX TOPS MAKES IT EASY! All you need is your phone! Download the Box Tops app, shop as you normally would, then use the app to scan your store receipt within 14 days of purchase. The app will identify Box Tops products on your receipt and automatically credit Field's earnings online. Twice a year, Field will receive a check and can use that cash to support the school!

Once logged into your Kroger account, search for Field Elementary PTO or KX612 and then click Enroll. New users will need to create an account which requires some basic information, a valid email address and a rewards card.

Don't forget your company's gift matching program!

Corporate matching gift programs match cash donations made by their employees (parents/guardians/family members) to non-profit organizations. Take advantage of this matching opportunity and your Field Elementary contributions can easily be doubled (or even tripled)!
