🌱 Field Elementary Garden Club is Back
School is back, and so is our garden! We officially kick off during the 2nd week of September.
🧑🌾 Want to help us bloom? A call for volunteers with details will go out once class schedule is finalized.
🌼 No gardening experience is required
🌼 It is a quick 30 minutes out in the garden
Urban Harvest Youth Education Program was funded again this year by supporters of the PTO!
But helping hands by parent volunteers are needed to:
- keep the garden watered 💦
- help students plant seeds
- pass out fresh veggies to eat 🥕
🌱 Last year we tasted over 20 herbs through the year and harvested more than 30 carrots!
🪴 We raised $199 with the 5th grade plant sale.
🥔 We will begin 2027 by harvesting the sweet potato slips the kids planted in May!
🌳 Trees for Houston outreach program was secured this Summer for new Fruit Tree Plantings as well as a few Redbuds!
🌱 Empowering Future Food Growers!
Every child at Field will have the opportunity to step outside the classroom to engage ALL of their senses.☀️ Through hands-on learning, we are inspiring our students to become the future growers of their own food! 🧑🌾
