Family New Year Goals

As parents, the start of a new year is an excellent opportunity to reflect on our parenting goals and set new ones for the upcoming year. But setting goals as a family can be just as important for our children's growth and development.

One goal that many families may consider setting is to spend more quality time together. With busy schedules and constant distractions, it can be easy to let time slip away without connecting with our children. But, setting aside specific times for family activities, such as game nights, movie nights, or even just having dinner together, can help strengthen the bond between parents and children and create lasting memories.

Another goal that many families may consider is encouraging their children to be more active and healthy. This could mean setting a goal to take a daily walk as a family, signing up for a sports league, or even just making minor changes to the family's diet. Not only will this help improve the health and well-being of the entire family, but it can also teach children the importance of caring for their bodies at a young age.

As parents, we must set goals for our children's education and personal growth. This could mean setting a goal for your child to read a certain number of books per month or to improve their grades in a specific subject. It could also mean encouraging your child to take on a new hobby or activity, such as learning to play a musical instrument or joining a club or team.

It's important to remember that setting goals as a family is a team effort and that it's essential to involve your children in the process. Encourage them to set their own goals and provide support and guidance as they work towards achieving them.

Setting new year's goals as a family is a great way to create stronger bonds, improve health, and support the growth and development of our children. Remember to involve your children in the process and provide support and guidance as they work towards achieving their goals. Happy New Year, and best of luck with your family's goals!

After many years of serving the children and families of Houston, Principal Hendrickson announced his retirement from HISD. Principal Hendrickson can be proud of his many accomplishments and the success of Field Elementary School.

The task of identifying candidates and selecting a new principal is currently underway. Once a candidate is selected, additional information will be communicated as it becomes available!

Best wishes, enjoy your retirement and we appreciate everything you've done for Field Elementary, Mr. Hendrickson!!!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The PTO could not do all of the amazing things it does without the dedicated group of volunteers who are so generous with their time and efforts. Involvement with the PTO is a wonderful way to get to know the school, staff, students, and other parents.

There are many different ways to get involved. We encourage you to learn more about the events and activities that the PTO sponsors and volunteer where you can.

Please note that all volunteers who will be working with students on campus or on field trips need to be registered through the school district’s Volunteers in Public Schools program, or VIPS. VIPS requires all volunteers to register annually. For more information, click here.

Field of Dreamers Garden Club

This year, we kicked off our Field of Dreamers Garden Club for our second season!

This amazing program, is run by parent volunteers who donate 20 minutes of their time every Thursday.

In this small amount of time students connect with the Earth, plant a thing or two, learn where their food comes from, sample fresh herbs or lettuce depending on what's growing, get a little dirty and explore the wonders of nature. So much goes on in those 7 beds at the front - you would be amazed!🐛 We also want to bring the students to the Butterfly Garden that was built and funded by grants and parent volunteers last year. The Butterfly Garden is located outside the PE room.

If you have 20 minutes to donate please let us know. You may reach Ebony Porter at campfirequilts@gmail.com . More information can be found here
