Congratulations to Field Elementary’s FORTY new 4th and 5th grade National Elementary Honor Society inductees! We are very proud of you!

The National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) provides Field’s 4th and 5th grade students a place to develop and apply their passion for service, while obtaining the skills to be confident young leaders for years to come.

NEHS membership is centered on recognizing students for their accomplishments while challenging and equipping them to develop further as leaders through service to their school and community.

Field Elementary’s first ever inductee ceremony took place November 9th. Thank you to our volunteer Field parents, Ms. Trevino, Ms. Perez, Ms. Tate, and Mr. Zelaya for leading such a great event!

This year, our NEHS students are hosting a toy drive benefiting Child Advocates.

What is this? How can you help?
Santa's Wish List provides Christmas gifts for children served by Child Advocates, who have been victims of life-threatening abuse or neglect and - as a result - have been placed in the protective custody of Child Protective Services.

The Santa's Wish List program makes the holiday season brighter for these children who might otherwise be without gifts for Christmas.

The QR Code for the wish list is coming soon, Amazon Gift cards are also appreciated!

Collection boxes will be inside the school entryway now through December 4th.

All gifts will be collected, sorted and delivered by our very own Field Elementary National Honor Society students!

You're invited!

Field families and friends, we invite you to attend our official Spark Park Dedication & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony next Wednesday, November 15th at 1:30pm.

This huge accomplishment would not have been possible without the support of our parents, students, staff, friends and greater Heights Community!

Looking forward to seeing you all next week!

Annual Community Ofrenda at Field Elementary

We are grateful for the heartfelt contributions and cherished memories that made this year's event a beautiful tapestry of culture and community.

The essence of Dia de los Muertos is captured in the ofrenda, an altar lovingly adorned with photographs, mementos, and offerings, inviting departed souls to reunite with their loved ones, if only briefly. It's a tradition that transcends time, bridging the gap between the living and the deceased, a moment to honor and remember those who have passed on.

Our ofrenda was not just an assemblage of objects; it was a gallery of stories, a montage of memories, and a testament to the vibrant tapestry of our community. Each photograph, each trinket, and each lovingly placed item was a thread in this intricate narrative, weaving a tale of love, remembrance, and celebration.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to every Field student, teacher, family member, and  community member who contributed their photographs, stories, and memories to our annual Field Community Orenda. Your willingness to share your personal connections and cherished moments helped create a tableau of remembrance that resonated deeply with all who visited.

As we bid farewell to this year's Dia de los Muertos celebration, let's carry forward the spirit of togetherness, remembrance, and unity. Let's continue to cherish and celebrate the colorful mosaic of our community, honoring our past, and shaping our future, hand in hand.

Shout-out to our Diversity Chair Ganda and Gabi for their work to bring this beautiful cultural experience back to Field again.

If you contributed a picture to this year's ofrenda, please visit Ms. Q to pick up your picture.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The PTO could not do all of the amazing things it does without the dedicated group of volunteers who are so generous with their time and efforts. Involvement with the PTO is a wonderful way to get to know the school, staff, students, and other parents.

There are many different ways to get involved. We encourage you to learn more about the events and activities that the PTO sponsors and volunteer where you can.

Please note that all volunteers who will be working with students on campus or on field trips need to be registered through the school district’s Volunteers in Public Schools program, or VIPS. VIPS requires all volunteers to register annually. For more information, click here.

Field of Dreamers Garden Club

We are excited to announce we are kicking off our Field of Dreamers Garden Club for our third season!

This amazing program, is run by parent volunteers who donate 25 minutes of their time every Tuesday and Wednesday. .

In this small amount of time students connect with the Earth, plant a thing or two, learn where their food comes from, sample fresh herbs or lettuce depending on what's growing, get a little dirty and explore the wonders of nature. So much goes on in those 7 beds at the front - you would be amazed! We also want to bring the students to the Butterfly Garden that was built and funded by grants and parent volunteers last year. The Butterfly Garden is located outside the PE room.

If you have 25 minutes to spare, please let us know. You may reach Ebony Porter at campfirequilts@gmail.com . More information can be found here
