Happy New Year from Principal Karr

Happy New Year, Field Families!

There was a lot to reflect on and be proud of for the fall semester! Students and staff have worked incredibly hard since August, and it shows. Students have shown tremendous academic growth since the beginning of the school year and teachers continue to collaborate and deliver high quality instruction. We initiated new programming with structured PE and art classes and expanded on our garden club for students in the lower grades, provided real-world experiences for students through various field trips, expanded our National Honors Society with a focus on promoting student leadership, and so much more!

For the Spring semester, our students and staff will continue to engage in quality learning. The Spring semester always brings additional district and state assessments, so please look out for communication from the school and teacher about any assessments your child may participate in. The information gathered from these assessments allow teachers to analyze data and make informed decisions about your child’s needs. Please continue to communicate regularly with your child’s teacher regarding academics, behavior, and social needs.

I will be hosting another Parent Focus Group session this Spring. More details will be provided via Class Dojo, but I encourage all families to consider attending. These sessions provide valuable information to the leadership team that impacts the quality of your child’s education.

Any upcoming events for this school year and updates for the 2024-2025 school year will be communicated via Class Dojo as it becomes available. Please check your teacher’s page in addition to the school page to stay informed on all things Field. We are thrilled about the upcoming Spring semester for our Lions!

As always, please reach out to the school if you have any questions or need anything.

Best,
Mr. Karr

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The PTO could not do all of the amazing things it does without the dedicated group of volunteers who are so generous with their time and efforts. Involvement with the PTO is a wonderful way to get to know the school, staff, students, and other parents.

There are many different ways to get involved. We encourage you to learn more about the events and activities that the PTO sponsors and volunteer where you can.

Please note that all volunteers who will be working with students on campus or on field trips need to be registered through the school district’s Volunteers in Public Schools program, or VIPS. VIPS requires all volunteers to register annually. For more information, click here.

Field of Dreamers Garden Club

We are excited to announce we are kicking off our Field of Dreamers Garden Club for our third season!

This amazing program, is run by parent volunteers who donate 25 minutes of their time every Tuesday and Wednesday. .

In this small amount of time students connect with the Earth, plant a thing or two, learn where their food comes from, sample fresh herbs or lettuce depending on what's growing, get a little dirty and explore the wonders of nature. So much goes on in those 7 beds at the front - you would be amazed! We also want to bring the students to the Butterfly Garden that was built and funded by grants and parent volunteers last year. The Butterfly Garden is located outside the PE room.

If you have 25 minutes to spare, please let us know. You may reach Ebony Porter at campfirequilts@gmail.com . More information can be found here
